What We Expect from Our Clients
Willingness to Change:
At Rusk County Lighthouse Shelter, we believe transformation begins with a choice. Every guest who walks through our doors is capable of growth—but that journey starts with a personal commitment to change.
Commitment to the Journey:
Change takes time, effort, and resilience. We walk alongside our guests every step of the way, but progress requires dedication—even when the path is difficult.
Engaged Participation:
We ask our guests to take an active role in their progress. This includes working closely with case managers, attending scheduled meetings, and following through on personalized goals and action plans.
Community Respect:
We foster a safe, welcoming environment for all. Guests are expected to treat staff, volunteers, and fellow residents with kindness, dignity, and respect.
Personal Accountability:
We believe in second chances—and in the power of responsibility. Guests are expected to follow shelter guidelines, communicate honestly, and take ownership of their actions and growth.
